POSITION OVERVIEW 

The role holder will identify which digital media platforms would best advertise a client’s brand or product and it’s appropriate strategy. He/she will enable clients to maximize the impact of their advertising campaigns through the use of a range of media. He/she will also negotiate, purchase and monitor advertising space and airtime on behalf of clients. The aim is to reach the highest number of people in the target audience at the lowest possible cost.

Role and Responsibilities

Content Development

  • Formulating and articulating paid media strategies for existing clients and pitches.
  • Presentation of strategies to clients and reports
  • Developing paid media plans aligned to specific client strategy
  • Optimizations and tracking of campaigns with clear outline of objectives and recommendations
  • Ensuring that the adverts run accurately with allocated budget so that the desired media message is seen and heard by consumers.

Reporting:

  • Maintaining detailed records & weekly tracking
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of campaigns in order to inform future campaigns.
  • Undertaking research using a range of specialist media resources;
  • Analysing the effectiveness of the campaign and using this data to inform future campaigns.
  • Client reporting and budget management, including preparing media plans for clients and producing spending updates throughout the campaign;
  • Attending weekly status meetings

Commercial Management:

  • Responsible for budget control for all assigned projects
  • Must collaboratively work with the individuals assigned to particular accounts to ensure a campaigns success.
  • Ensures that all work in progress can be reconciled and billed
  • Ensures that all invoices are issued quickly and correctly and that reconciliation meetings are held with suppliers as appropriate
  • Ensures work is produced on time and within budget

  • Client Activity report – Weekly & Monthly
  • Media Negotiations
  • Engage with clients on all accounts
  • Engage in a project outside your scope – Quarterly (Digital)
  • Training: Identifying opportunities for training & immersion
  • Full media spend or allocated budgets
  • ROI based on projections on media plans eg; number of leads generated, reach etc.

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Degree in a media related course
  • 4-5 years’ experience in advertising/digital media
  • IT literacy: Knowledge of media planning tools & partners
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients and colleagues;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Presentation skills for reporting back to clients and for pitches
  • Good numerical, analytical and research skills to evaluate campaigns;
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy and the ability to assimilate information quickly
  • Negotiation skills to get the best advertising space at the best price;
  • A good understanding of media;
  • The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and make decisions quickly;
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills;
  • Commercial and budget awareness.
